Every day, many tourists arrive at Parque Tayrona with the intention of exploring it in just one day! As a slow traveler, I believe it’s a shame not to take the time to fully appreciate this magical place.

So, don’t be like them—take the time to slow down, unwind, and disconnect in this unique natural environment. I recommend staying for at least two nights to truly enjoy a full day of peace and quiet.

Alternatively, you can choose to spend just one night inside the park and spend the following nights nearby, continuing to enjoy the surrounding nature without being directly within the park. This is a great option, especially during peak season when the park gets crowded.

In any case, follow along, and I’ll show you my selection of the best hotels Parque Tayrona!

My Selection of the Best Hotels Parc Tayrona:

  1. Inside the park
  2. Outside the park

Tayrona Park in a nutshell

Located on the Caribbean coast of Colombia, about 34 km from Santa Marta, Tayrona National Natural Park is one of the country’s most beautiful natural treasures.

Nestled between the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea and the towering mountains of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, it offers a striking contrast of golden sandy beaches, tropical forests, and rugged landscapes.

Spanning 150 km², including 30 km² of marine area, the park is home to exceptional biodiversity. Tayrona is also a refuge for many animal species. The underwater world is equally stunning, with coral reefs that house fascinating marine life.

In short, it’s a must-visit destination for nature lovers, hikers, and travelers seeking an escape into paradise.

I highly recommend staying at least two nights inside the park to fully enjoy its beauty. This will allow you to slow down, explore its trails in peace, and savor the magic of the place at dawn and sunset, away from the crowds.

And why not extend this timeless escape by staying at a hotel nearby, where you can continue to soak in the surrounding nature?

1. Inside the park

Spending the night inside Tayrona Park is a chance to fully immerse yourself in this preserved natural paradise.

From the morning, you can enjoy the stunning beaches before the crowds arrive and listen to the jungle come alive.

Whether you choose a hammock, a tent, or a comfortable ecolodge, the experience is unique and will allow you to completely disconnect from the outside world.

It’s also a great way to make the most of your time there and avoid long walks in the heat to reach the more remote beaches.
